Attorney Gary M. Whitla practices domestic relations law, primarily family law (divorces\/dissolutions, custody\/visitation) and estate planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growing up in a small town in the Ohio Valley was a defining experience for Attorney Whitla. From an early age, aside from the many positive attributes that small-town living brings with it, he also witnessed the hardships his family, friends, and neighbors faced in the wake of the decline of American industry in the Valley and the ramifications experienced by the middle and working classes, as well as the devastating toll of the narcotics epidemic, and how the personal and legal ramifications of these events affected countless families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Impelled by a desire to positively shape his community and help those in need, Gary worked in local and state politics as a political operative and campaign manager, before attending Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. While at Cleveland-Marshall, Gary clerked for large and small firms, government agencies, and a Fortune 500 Company. He was also active in the Student Bar Association, the Dean\u2019s Council, a recipient of the CALI Award for Excellence in Psychology and the Law<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attorney Whitla is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Tuscarawas and Columbiana County Bar Associations. He also devotes part of his time to assisting the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education and serving as a judge for the local, regional, and state mock trial competitions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gary\u2019s passion for politics and law is matched by his passion for history.
